SYDEL IDEHEN, ’24 | ALPHARETTA, GEORGIA
Sydel Idehen, from Alpharetta,
graduated summa cum laude
from Mercer University in May
2024 with a double major in
Accounting and Spanish. She
currently works in Atlanta
for one of the Big Four
accounting firms and plans
to earn her CPA license.
During her time at Mercer, Idehen earned numerous prestigious
honors, including induction into Beta Alpha Psi, Beta Gamma
Sigma, Phi Kappa Phi, and Phi Sigma Iota honor societies.
She served as an America Reads America Counts tutor, a
supplemental instructor for Financial Accounting, and a
Minority Mentor and Opportunity Scholars Ambassador/
Hybrid Mentor, and held leadership roles in Delta Sigma Pi
and TRIO Programs. Idehen was also involved in Delight and
AGAPE student ministries and intramural sports. A recipient
of the Gilman Scholarship and Global Leader Scholarship, she
studied abroad in Madrid, Spain, further broadening her global
perspective and preparing her for a career in public accounting.
